Did you know that the first burning of your candle is the most important?
A candle should burn one hour for every 2.50 cm in diameter of its actual size. For example, a 5 cm diameter candle needs to burn for 2 hours to liquefy from one end of the container to the other. If its combustion is stopped before it creates its “burning pool” then a “memory ring” will be created which will never allow the candle to reach perfect combustion, thus reducing its lifespan.
